Third place at the DutchGP
Great comeback for Enea Bastianini, who secured third place after a heroic performance in the second half of the race. After a more challenging first part of the race than expected, Bastianini managed to find the right feeling with his Desmosedici GP. Thanks to excellent lap times, he rejoined the group fighting for the podium (comprising four other riders). Enea’s second half of the race was perfect, and in five laps, he went from seventh to third place, then defended the position until the finish line.
“It was incredible, even though the race was a bit strange. I tried to push from the beginning, but I struggled a bit with the rear, especially on the right-hand corners. The feeling improved lap by lap, and when the others slowed down a bit, I maintained the pace and was able to push even a bit more. I caught up with the riders fighting for the podium: I went for it, had fun making several overtakes, and managed to secure third place. Of course, I knew that Pecco was out of our reach this weekend and Martín did well to stay behind him, so it’s okay like this. I am very happy and thank the team for the work they did because two days ago we were not in the condition to do well, but now we are here on the podium.”
