A very unlucky CatalanGP

Enea Bastianini crossed the finish line in ninth position at the end of the 24 laps of the race at the “Circuit de Barcelona – Catalunya” in Montmeló, only to receive a 32-second penalty for not serving a long-lap penalty, which relegated him to the final eighteenth position.

“It was a frustrating race for me, as I received a long-lap penalty midway through the race for being forced to take a long route after an overtaking move by Alex Márquez, in a situation where I had no other option but to cut the first chicane. I hope there will be more attention to this kind of situation in the future because I believe I didn’t deserve this type of penalty. I expected, on the contrary, that Alex would have to give me back the position, but that was not the case. Now we have to focus on making a comeback in the next race.”
